Theatre, dance, music and live performance photography in Porto — made by someone who has often been on the other side, sitting in the audience, waiting for the moment. Photographing performing arts is unlike anything else. The light is made for the eye, not the camera: it shifts colour, disappears, returns. There is no second attempt. And there is one rule that is never broken — you do not interrupt. Not a sound, not a flash, not a movement that pulls someone out of what they are watching. **How I work** Whenever possible, I attend a rehearsal beforehand. This is not excessive care: it is the only way to know where the dancer will leap, when the actor turns into the light, on which bar the solo happens. Photographing a show you have already seen means shooting with anticipation instead of reflexes. I use quiet equipment and work with available light. I move little, and only at the right moments. **Who it is for** Theatre and dance companies, musicians and bands, arts schools, festivals and production companies. I photograph full performances, dress rehearsals, cast portraits and promotional material — the poster, the programme, images for press and social media. If you are an artist and need images for applications, portfolio or touring, a dedicated session almost always gives a better result than photographs taken during a performance: we can choose the light, repeat, search. **What is included** Professional editing and a private online gallery in high resolution. Packages range from Bronze Wings (2 hours) to Gold Wings (full day), and for productions with several performances or tours we prepare a tailored quote. Delivery is typically 1 to 2 weeks — and when there is an opening night and the press needs material quickly, we arrange an early selection. **Practical** I work from Vila Nova de Gaia and cover Porto and the whole country. Talk to me with some notice whenever possible: to be able to watch a rehearsal, I need to know about the show before opening night.
