Frequently asked

How long does a photo session in Porto take?

Three to four hours, typically. And set aside a whole part of the day — either the morning or the afternoon. Of that time, the actual shooting only happens within each area. Moving between areas always costs 20 to 30 minutes. With two or three locations, that is an hour gone without a single frame taken. The reason is people. Porto is a tourist city and the most interesting spots are crowded for most of the day. In the Crystal Palace Gardens you can work on the move, waiting for nothing. At a well-known viewpoint mid-afternoon, you wait — for a gap between people, for a coach to leave, for someone to step out of the frame. That is why I plan with margin. Book one hour at a tourist landmark and you get a photograph, not a session.
